Check-in / checkout

4:00 PM / 11:00 AM

Wi-Fi network + password

Your unit's private network name (e.g. "Casa Castillo [unit]") and password are sent in your check-in email/SMS before arrival. An open guest network, "Casa Castillo" is also available with no password. Use it to cast to your TV.

Parking

5 spaces total, one dedicated per unit, plus one ADA spot. Park in the space matching your unit number. Two Tesla EV chargers are shared in the middle of the lot. Park in your own designated spot and bring the charging cable to it, rather than parking in another spot to reach a charger.

Street sweeping

Thursdays 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on our side of Castillo Street (the northeast side). The opposite side is swept Wednesdays 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Posted signs govern.

EV charging

2 shared Tesla chargers, $0.30/kWh, in the middle of the lot.

Pets

2 pets max, $75 per pet. $250 fine if brought without prior approval/payment.

Laundry

In-unit washer/dryer in Apartments 4 and 5. Studios 1 to 3 have no in-unit laundry, and there is no shared on-site laundry.

Air conditioning

Both heating and cooling in every unit; guest-controlled thermostat.

Quiet hours

10:00 PM–8:00 AM.

Max occupancy

Studios 1 to 3 sleep 2. Apartments 4 and 5 sleep 4.

Pack 'n Play / high chair

Available in all units on request. Apartments 4 and 5 keep a dedicated crib in the closet; studios reserve in advance, first-come-first-served.

Lock / lockbox

Keyless smart lock. Code arrives by SMS on arrival day; enter it on the unit-door keypad, or text "Unlock" from the phone number on the reservation.

Luggage storage

No on-site lobby; no dedicated luggage storage.

Beach access

Several beaches within 1–1.5 miles (State Street toward the pier; Arroyo Burro Beach for dogs). Natural tar on all local beaches. Oil-slick removal wipes are provided in-unit.

Fireplace / BBQ

No fireplace. 2 shared BBQs in the backyard; a grill set for your unit is in the kitchenette's bottom drawer, cleaning kit under each BBQ.

Streaming / TV

Smart TVs, streaming apps only, personal login required; cast via unit Wi-Fi.

Nearby restaurants/attractions

State Street is a 5-minute walk; Paseo Nuevo (5–6 blocks) and the Funk Zone further down State Street both have multiple tasting rooms and restaurants.

Good to know here

  • Unit access from the lot: Unit 5 direct from the lot; Unit 3 via the left gate; Unit 4 via the right side; Units 1–2 at the front, accessible from either side.
  • Sensor bathroom lights; a small pin inside a kitchen drawer opens a bathroom door if accidentally locked from a pressed-in handle button.
  • White noise machines in the bathroom drawer/vanity of every unit.
  • Shared backyard seating, first-come-first-served, quiet-hours applies there too.
  • Sustainability note: toiletries and cleaning products are described as paraben/fragrance/sulfate-free.
  • Trash pickup Wednesday afternoons; recycling/compost bins are separated (blue/green).
  • Exterior/parking security cameras only; none inside units.
  • Power outage: pre-charged lanterns under the kitchenette sink; no backup generator; physical door keys available from key boxes near each unit's door if needed.
