Casa Iglesia
Erected in 1924 as the hallowed home of the First Christian Church, this architectural landmark stands as a timeless testament to a heritage dating back to 1888. In June 2026, its magnificent doors swung open to a new chapter, welcoming travelers eager to immerse themselves in the coastal allure of Santa Barbara. Now known as Casa Iglesia, the estate strikes a sublime balance between eras—faithfully preserving its historic soul on the outside while unveiling a world of curated luxury and seamless high-tech sophistication within.
Featuring a combination of 37 accommodation types, including Studios, Loft Apartments, and two-bedroom Apartments. In a masterstroke of design, a portion of the original roof was removed to unveil a central, open-air atrium. This shared guest sanctuary is filled with lush, curated greenery, offering guests a serene escape under the California sky.

about staying here.
★★★★★
“Beautiful building, very well kept. Super clean room, and everything was new. For a Studio, I was expecting something a little bit bigger with a least a small sofa or armchair to sit. Quiet neighborhood, but far from the beach if that’s what you’re looking for.”
★★★★★
“This was the loveliest and cleanest place we have ever stayed. You can tell the property is new and very well thought out with public goods shower amenities, a toto toilet and a water filter. Check in was seamless and there was a large parking lot with tons of space and Tesla chargers! The location is great and everything, the tv, the thermostat was very easy to use. Will recommend this space to everyone who will visit!”
★★★★★
“Loved our stay, we enjoyed the location as it was close enough to the main area to be within walking distance but not super close to keep us up at night.”
★★★★★
“The place is located in a quite residential neighborhood. The interior is nice and we loved the kitchenette especially. The atrium at the rooftop is also a good place to relax on a cool day and at night. Overall, a great value compared to other hotels in the downtown SB area.”
★★★★★
“We had a great stay at Casa Iglesia. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The room was equipped with everything you need. The outdoor atrium is stunning, and a great third space to work, relax, and sunbathe. The location is not far from downtown Santa Barbara, so it was easy to get around. There is ample parking, and we had no noise issues. We would definitely stay again!”

“If you can navigate technology well and don’t require constant hand holding in life, this is the property for you. We walked right into our room, saw a housekeeper down the hall and basically saw no other people for our stay. We were in and out for one night with events booked so we were in no need of hotel assistance to navigate the city. No contact was not a problem but we did not explore any other part of the hotel. All i can speak to is the cleanliness of the building, it’s a beautiful property. The room was extremely modern with high end fixtures and conveniences. The additionally toiletries and kitchen extras were very appreciated and a nice touch. Having the parking is a big sell to as the down town strip is very congested. We would recommend this property. However my only negative was the price. Due to the University commencement occurring the same weekend, we had to endure triple the rate. Because our event tickets had already been purchased we were basically stuck with the weekend. ”

“I stayed in one of the studio units during my trip and honestly could not have asked for a better setup. The space was extremely clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious for a studio. Everything felt very intentional and well designed, which made the stay feel comfortable from the second I walked in. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and I appreciated having all the essentials already there without needing to ask for anything extra. It felt perfect for both relaxing at night and getting ready quickly before heading out to explore Santa Barbara during the day. One detail we absolutely loved was the smart toilets and the fresh filtered water right at the sink. Those little modern touches made the stay feel extra elevated and thoughtful, and honestly spoiled us a bit during the trip. The self check-in process was simple and stress-free, and communication with the hosts was quick and helpful throughout the stay. I also loved how convenient the location was, close to restaurants, coffee shops, and everything I wanted to see. This studio ended up being exactly what I was hoping for: clean, easy, modern, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip!”
