Casa Iglesia

Erected in 1924 as the hallowed home of the First Christian Church, this architectural landmark stands as a timeless testament to a heritage dating back to 1888. In June 2026, its magnificent doors swung open to a new chapter, welcoming travelers eager to immerse themselves in the coastal allure of Santa Barbara. Now known as Casa Iglesia, the estate strikes a sublime balance between eras—faithfully preserving its historic soul on the outside while unveiling a world of curated luxury and seamless high-tech sophistication within.

Featuring a combination of 37 accommodation types, including Studios, Loft Apartments, and two-bedroom Apartments. In a masterstroke of design, a portion of the original roof was removed to unveil a central, open-air atrium. This shared guest sanctuary is filled with lush, curated greenery, offering guests a serene escape under the California sky.

We loved this Santa Barbara retreat! Zenstay does amazing rehabilitations and we are fortunate to experience them! This is better than a hotel, but more consistent than an airbnb. Their communication is out of this world. They have locations throughout SB and we loved being a bit farther from downtown but still being able to walk.

We were very impressed with the hotel. It’s a 5 start boutique hotel with home amenities. Every detail was covered. We absolutely recommend it and will stay here again every time that we visit Santa Barbara

★★★★★

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Iglesia. The contactless check-in process was seamless and convenient, and there was plenty of parking available. The location was excellent—within walking distance of local restaurants and coffee shops, making it easy to explore the area without needing to drive. One of the highlights was the beautiful open-roof atrium concept, which gave the property a unique and elevated feel. We also appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including filtered water on tap and a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules. The only minor issue was a small gap at the bottom of our door, which allowed some sound to travel from the hallway. Fortunately, all of the guests were very respectful, so noise was never a problem during our stay. Overall, we had a relaxing and comfortable experience at Casa Iglesia and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

I stay was excellent. Customer service was outstanding even through the initial check-in process, which was a bit shocking because we weren’t aware that there was no front desk. It’s all digital. Our room was small but felt spacious. Definitely recommend.

Everything about our experience was absolutely amazing. Waking up each morning with that gorgeous terrarium right there was such a dream, it set the perfect peaceful tone for the day. Honestly, I think our other favorite part might just be the Toto toilet! It sounds funny, but it’s exactly those thoughtful, high-end details that make such a massive difference. The aesthetic is incredible, the staff is fantastic, and we are truly so happy with our stay!

From the very first texts/emails with Karen and then through 3 or 4 others it was clear 5 star service was their intent, and they delivered. The unit was immaculate and new, clean. They’ve thought of everything. But the best was the open atrium where we enjoyed meeting other guests and spending quiet time.
